We are looking for a Supply Chain Planner for a 12 Month contract based in Winsford (hybrid) on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.


Job description - Supply Chain Planner
Our client offers support services for Defense customers, operating in both the UK and overseas. These services span across design, development, manufacturing, and support of electrical power generation, power management, distribution, and conversion equipment.

The MRPC Supply Chain Planner role presents an opportunity for individuals to oversee the consistent achievement of robust quality standards and drive improvements in both external supply chain management and internal operational activities.

This role involves conducting the necessary activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the business and attainment of its performance objectives

As a Supply Chain Planner you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the ERP system is maintained with robust & credible material requirement planning (MRP) data both Buy and Make items, which support the delivery of customers' requirements.
  • Creating and executing work orders or purchase orders for the production or purchase of components or assemblies based on MRP and independent demand requirements.
  • Coordinating cross functional activity as required to ensure the fulfilment of MRP output requirements that are achieved on time in full (OTIF).
  • Expediting Make and/or Buy orders as required via the internal and external supply chains.
  • Providing the required information and updates at production and project meetings with regards to the progress of procured materials and completion of production work.

What we require from the Supply Chain Planner:

  • You must be able to demonstrate an in-depth working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post training experience in a materials planning and purchasing role, ideally based in an engineering make/repair to order type business.
  • Highly selfmotivated, with strong interpersonal, team working and influencing skills.
  • Able to make sound, logical decisions, based on available data.
  • Experience of working on projects where ambiguity may exist and change often occurs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deliveries and make balanced business decisions under challenging circumstances.
  • Good understanding of the contribution that other functions (engineering, quality, production etc.) make to the accuracy and success of a master production schedule.
  • Experience of production planning and associated control processes.
