The
Education Development Service (EDS), which comprises staff and student development services, has been reshaped to focus on working with Faculty-based colleagues in developing their teaching, assessment and student support.

At this exciting time we are looking to strengthen the EDS team and are looking for a high-calibre Administrative Assistant to join our department

The
Administrative Assistant will work across the EDS team and report to the Finance and Administration Manager. The role will provide administrative & finance support for all EDS related activities and initiatives. In addition, the post will work closely with the Digital Assessment Centre (DAC) and Financial Assistance Fund.

The post will work with students and staff in a friendly and effective manner whilst also supporting the booking and recording functions of the Digital Assessment Centre through effective use of various IT systems.

Additional duties will focus around supporting the work of EDS other teams to deliver an effective and engaging service.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • provide administrative & finance support for EDS related activities and initiatives, i.e. enrolment for APA, administrative support for UKPSF and the Financial Assistance Fund.
- support the activities of the Digital assessment centre (DAC). The post-holder will be required to assist with administrative activities associated with the DAC, managing the physical DAC environment (including invigilation), supporting students and staff in their use of the specialist examination software and monitoring offsite exams.

  • The post holder will be expected to perform assigned duties both at campus and from home, as arranged by the line manager.
  • Use various software to analyse and produce report as requested.

Requirements:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or able to demonstrate equivalent work experience and relevant skills.
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE English and Maths.
  • IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office, ideally with some experience in data reporting.
  • Knowledge and some experience of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing, record keeping and note taking.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to demonstrate an organised approach to work and ability to prioritise different tasks.
  • Work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Able to work with people at all levels internally and externally.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
