Description

Reporting to the senior leadership team - Energy & Construction Division, you will have responsibility for the management of people and all broking related activity to achieve the performance targets of the Divisional business plan, maintain local compliance, regulatory and quality practice standards and develop/introduce new and existing business.


Responsible to deliver client service through; advising clients on their insurance programmes, negotiating and placing contracts of insurance that meet client needs and conforming to company practice quality standards.


Key Duties will include:


Supervision of all aspects of broking operations within the Division to meet performance targets including supervising and monitoring renewal lists/progress of renewals.


  • Highlights any deficiencies in broking operations and recommends remedial or corrective action to be taken
  • Investigates and resolves complaints and service failures
  • Develops and maintains market relationships to permit the widest placing opportunities
  • Analyse and provide advice on risk and insurance issues and structure appropriate coverage
  • Placing structure is appropriate to the insured's operations; exposure and risk transfer goals
  • Market presentations secure best possible terms for the client, with full material disclosure
  • Negotiates and obtains the most appropriate carrier, coverage and price for the clients' requirements
  • Negotiates agreement to postplacement changes, e.g. by contract endorsement
  • Develops and maintains market relationships to permit the widest placing opportunities
  • Produce and analyse premium/brokerage/claims/renewal and other statistics as may be required by line manager
  • Identifies and manages client requirements in accordance with the terms of appointment
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships
  • Achieves a high rate of client retention through wellplanned and executed account renewal management
  • Ensures there are sufficient resources to meet client daytoday demands and escalates servicing issues to divisional management as necessary
  • Ensure that the standards of Company's Client Service Charter are met at all times
  • No justified client complaints over provision of service
Skills and Experience Required

  • London or international market experience preferably in broking, Account servicing to large international corporations; technical insurance
  • Extensive downstream energy risk and insurance products/solutions knowledge
  • Technical insurance to Cert CII, or equivalent experience
  • People management
  • Market and industry structure and operation, including regulation and current market practice
  • Slip drafting
  • Risk Analysis
  • Negotiation
