Receptionist - Speedwell Court.

The role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Receptionist to join our team on a 37.5 hour a week contract. The hours for this role will be Monday-Friday and one weekend per month.


As Receptionist you have the important role of managing administrative systems and processes to the highest standard to help our Home Manager and the team run the home both safely and effectively.


Everyday tasks include:


  • As the face and voice of the home you welcome and assist visitors, residents and employees, providing a welcoming reception service both face to face and over the phone, either dealing with queries yourself, or directing them to the relevant person.
  • To enable your colleagues to work effectively and professionally, you maintain adequate supplies of stationary, forms, promotional literature, uniforms and badges and assist with the coordination of repairs and maintenance.
  • You maintain accurate and current TV licences and records for the home and assist with the issue of licence agreements to residents.

Your skills:


  • You are well organised and prioritise your work to ensure that you meet all scheduled deadlines and manage expectations with regard to any adhoc requests.
  • All of your paperwork and correspondence is presented in a way which maintains the caring and professional image of Abbeyfield.
  • You understand and observe all of Abbeyfield's policies and procedures, keep all home and resident records up to date and the home secure
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and e mail, you must also be able to demonstrate strong numeracy and literacy skills, and be able to communicate and interact well with a wide range of people in varied situations.
