Description

Reconnect services aim to deliver care after custody to a small cohort of prisoners released after remand or on completion of sentence.


Sussex Diversion and liaison service are seeking a dynamic, enthusiasticadministratorto join our team and help to develop and shape this exciting new service.

You will be working 3 days a week, days can be negotiated with the Team Lead.

Reconnect aims to build on the existing Liaison & Diversion model to encompass the criminal justice pathway and beyond the prison gate.

This post is vacant due to current post holder gaining a promotion.

Your base will be at The Firs, Hellingly with some degree of flexibility to this.


As part of a new and developing team within a wider service you will be supported to develop skills relevant to the post and for carer progression.


The wider network of staff meets daily (Skype) and has a culture of active communication to support all custody sites.

Regular reflective practice and peer-support are available to all support workers

You will work with your colleagues locally to maintain a comprehensive database of available resources, and will refer people on to appropriate services and safely use your relationship-based skills to encourage them to engage with the help they need, once they leave prison

Secretarial:


To provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial support to the newly set up team; this will include handling all aspects of correspondence, including processing referrals and dealing with telephone enquiries.

Liaise with other directorates and staff at all levels, both internally and externally.

Ensure that all documents and correspondence are electronically filed correctly.


To produce letters and source information for reports to a high standard of presentation and accuracy using appropriate Trust templates, and in line with Trust guidelines.

Some letters and reports may contain very distressing content.

To be responsible for initiating and sending out, without reference, routine correspondence and a variety of self help information.

To manage diaries for the team.

To be responsible for preparation of non routine papers.

Organise and facilitate relevant meetings, preparing the agenda, taking minutes.

To open and process incoming and outgoing mail for the team.

To prepare presentation materials.


Administration:

Ensure that GDPR is followed at all times.

To be responsible for creating/retrieving/filing notes both electronically and hard copies where relevant.

To be responsible for maintaining comprehensive filing and database systems.

To maintain office systems for the department.

To act as point of contact for the service during working hours and responding as appropriate in an emergency by obtaining relevant information and liaising with organisations/persons involved

To participate in the Trust supervision and appraisal system.

To maintain sickness/absence/leaves for the team

To liaise with internal and external agencies

To support the team in inductions and training of new staff members.
