Systems Analyst

6 months contract

Newport, hybrid working

Role Overview:


The systems analyst will undertake analysis, design, testing and implementation services on medium complexity and relatively low risk, but nevertheless business critical Resourcing Technology systems (such as Applicant Tracking Systems and microsites).

This is an excellent opportunity within a growing team, so come and help shape the future of our service.

We aren't necessarily looking for a long list of experience but some understanding of what it takes to work in a busy fast paced environment that doesn'tstop Therefore initiative and a proactive attitude are required to address and resolve daily problems.

If you have a high level of accuracy, we can show you the rest, we just need you to bring your "willing to learn" attitude.

This will be a hybrid role and will be a mix between home working and office-based working. There will be occasional travel to client sites and other SSCL offices when required.


Key Responsibilities:

Gather requirements and assist with workshops resulting in solution design
Configure and maintain systems based on signed off specification - primarily microsites and ATS, with scope to work on other technology platforms
Support project leads to estimate and complete system changes and enhancements
Quality assurance of own work, and assisting with testing of work completed by team members
Produce and maintain specification documents following company brand guidelines
Produce user documentation and support users during testing and early live running
Ensure all SSCL Web platforms meet accessibility compliances
Work closely with copywriters and UX experts throughout design stages


Essential Skills:

Experience working with technology platforms
Experience building websites using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Strong communication skills
Detail orientated
Problem solving and analytical skills
Experience of working with a CMS platform


Desirable Skills:

Software testing experience
An understanding of recruitment processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Visio and Powerpoint
Knowledge of GTM tracking and Analytics
Knowledge of WCAG 2.1
