This role offers the opportunity for someone with good communications skills and compassion to work in a highly sensitive front facing position.
A ward clerk working in Goscote Hospice will be working within a wide MDT with nurses, CSWs, pharmacist, medics, therapists inc complementary therapy, bereavement and physio & OT amongst others.
This role offers the opportunity to meet & greet all patients, carers and staff on entering the hospice, so professional appearance is required.
Day to day clerical duties are fundamental to the role and working with other teams within Palliative & End of Life Care will be a bonus of working in one of the very few NHS hospices in the country.
To provide clerical support to registered nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of patient care at a level determined by training, competence and experience.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community.
The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities.
Work is also well underway on its multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which will house a new Emergency Department (including Children's Emergency Department), co-located Paediatric Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Urgent Care Centre.

To provide a high quality reception service, meet and greet patients demonstrating optimal customer service skills, addressing patient's queries and providing information within your remit or seeking advice and guidance as necessary
To manage incoming calls and receiving information via other sources from patients, relatives and other members of the trust team, managing, documenting and communicating appropriately to support in the management of the department
