Weston placemaking activity focuses on eight key themes, with a particular emphasis on quality, year-round activity, equality, and diversity.

North Somerset Council recently attracted funding for a £20 million programme of placemaking activity to enhance assets in Weston.

On secondment you will lead activity on several work streams, matrix manage internal and external teams (including other professionals and colleagues from other disciplines and parts of the Council), ensuring service and project delivery through self and others, developing plans, implementing and embedding new ways of working, monitoring and maintaining service standards, contributing to service improvements and developments.

You will ensure that the Placemaking team and projects are delivered within corporate processes and policies, and support colleagues to follow these guidance and procedures.

Successful Placemaking is delivered in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders, you will work to develop and maintain relationships with businesses and organisations, including through the Weston Place Agency, culture and arts partners, Weston BID and Weston Town Council, amongst others.

These partnerships should create economies of scale, reduce duplication and strengthen joint activity.

You will support the Weston Placemaking Programme Manager to deliver a range activity and report progress to the relevant managers and Members.
