Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with a successful, busy and growing business based in Thurrock who are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to cover a member of staff on
maternity leave.


This role is based on site in Thurrock, and we would love to hear from you if you are actively looking for a long-term opportunity and have the skills set out below:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Inputting of purchase ledger invoices, Input invoices and credits, allocate correctly through MCS or RM/Register or Summit
  • Balance statements with accounts at month end resolve any differences, request copies.
  • Open new accounts in our system, provide requested info, ensure payment terms agreed with purchasing etc.
  • Processing bank statement transactions
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly Supplier Statement reconciliations
  • Petty Cash
  • Providing telephone support to customers/suppliers
  • Maintaining Excel spread sheets.
  • Filing/Scanning of all purchase ledger invoices
  • Supporting the Purchase Ledger Manager and Financial Controller in any other tasks requested

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience within a similar or identical role.
  • Professional telephone and communication skills
  • Accuracy in entering and managing data.
  • Ability to organise and manage workload.
  • MCS or RM/Register or Summit experience preferred by not mandatory.
Monday to Thursday and Friday.

Holiday pay pro-rata

Shut down at Christmas

Free Parking

£12.50-£13.50 Per hour DOE
