The Role


As an NHS Insight & Interaction (I&I) Consultant (Technical) you will be required to undertake dual roles, as appropriate, providing project leadership in supporting client and project management, and providing analytical support including local healthcare economics and evaluation expertise to the team and clients, whilst also supporting the successful delivery of client projects and internal workstreams.

In this role, it is generally expected that you will require mínimal input from senior colleagues, but off-project support and mentorship would be available, if required.

You will be required to work closely with colleagues within multi-disciplinary project teams and externally with clients, external associates (e.g. key opinion leaders), and third party agencies to achieve project objectives.


Your ability to perform this role will be based on demonstrable experience through the volume and breadth of individual deliverables and projects successfully delivered, and positive feedback received.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • As a consultant and economic evaluation expert designated on projects, work autonomously to lead and robust healthcare evaluation deliverables consistently to a high standard, across a varied range of therapeutic areas and a breadth of deliverables, including but not limited to:
  • Providing expertise in defining, capturing, implementing, and measuring planned and actual quantitative and qualitative benefits.
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Pathway mapping and costing
  • Forecasting, capacity, and demand modelling
  • Case study, business case, and Case for Change development
  • Cost benefit analysis, producing evaluation reports, and supporting budget impact modelling
  • Leading realworld evaluations according to best practice, contributing to the development of logic models and metrics; supporting project teams to determine the theory of change of their initiatives and articulate key benefit measures
  • Conduct analyses of diverse data, manage the collection, analysis, modelling, and presentations of data to support projects and programmes
  • Workshop/expert interview transcripts and summaries

Other activities may include:

  • Deskbased research
  • Participation in expert knowledge elicitation activities, e.g. interviews and workshops
  • Adhering to internal and client quality control measures and taking personal responsibility for the quality of your work
  • Effectively managing the input of support/junior project team contributors
  • Advising on the strategic direction/shaping of speciality deliverables to ensure these are 'fit for purpose' and meet client objectives
  • As a member of a project team, leading on appropriate aspects of the project, including the intellectual design, timeline development, and the ongoing organisation and execution of projects, including timely communication with colleagues and clients, leading specific aspects of client meetings or the entire meeting, note taking, and execution of relevant actions
  • Within healthcare evaluation and across the portfolio of NHS I&I services; leading discussions with colleagues and clients, showing the authority and confidence in your speciality knowledge and wider understanding of the market access environment and healthcare systems of relevance to your speciality, to advise and support
  • Fostering and maintaining existing client relationships
  • Contributing to or leading business development activities within healthcare evaluation and across the portfolio of NHS I&I services, such as:
  • Researching and writing proposals
  • Introductory calls with clients
  • Presenting at credentials opportunities or pitches
  • Contributing to technical and consulting mentorship, including dissemination of skills and knowledge, on
- and off-project, and formal training

  • Contributing to NHS I&I team responsibilities
  • Line management would be expected if opportunities exist

Requirements:

Essential

  • Degree level educated or equivalent qualifications
  • Up to date knowledge of the NHS, including operational, strategic and policy understanding
