The Fleet & Capacity Management (FCM) function is responsible for the management of TUI's in-house aircraft fleet and third party aircraft contracts.

The FCM team is a truly international multi-disciplinary team, with a common mission.

As Head of External Capacity Management you are the lead for sourcing, acquiring, contracting and delivering aircraft capacity provided by External Capacity Providers (ECPs).

You are accountable for TUI Airline's External Capacity Management activities, working in collaboration with all Airline Fleet Planning and tour operator markets' Aviation Planning stakeholders as well as the full spectrum of internal airline stakeholders in various platform and AOC operational roles.

You will ensure all External Capacity Management activities are prepared, implemented and managed effectively.

We are happy to consider this role on a hybrid working model in line with local office requirements. The position will involve some travel so flexibility is required.

ABOUT THE JOB
As Head of External Capacity Management, you will be responsible for:
Optimising existing External Capacity Management (ECM) activities and further developing the maturity of TUI's external aircraft capacity model. Together with your team, you will effectively navigate a matrix environment with multiple constraints, nuance, complexities and trade-offs. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that valid concerns of these different audiences are addressed, resolved and integrated into the ECP model
The high-level architecture for the external capacity fleet management and optimisation process.

You will establish the strategic ECP roadmap and lead execution and delivery of the resource planning and fulfilment of the ecosystem that underpins TUI Airline's Capacity Demand strategy.

In addition you will be responsible for designing, executing and monitor SLAs in relation to the TUI Airline's Capacity Demand Strategy

Coordinating the ECP process across the TUI network with respect to the initiation, planning and review of fleet requirements and procurement projects.

Acts as the SPOC regarding business case evaluations of External Capacity Demand fleet projects
Coordinating the external capacity production with the Aviation Planning departments to define the detailed capacity requirements for each TUI market
Leading activities evaluating, negotiating and selecting suitable wet lease contracts. Your team will understand the quantitative (financially) and qualitative measures to meet structural and seasonal external capacity needs outside TUI's own in-house fleet
Coordinating relationships within TUI as ECP SPOC and between TUI and the external capacity providers. Designing, executing and monitoring external capacity provider SLAs. Monthly reporting on key KPIs, product and performance issues
Coordinating external capacity management activities with the Airline operational production departments (incl. crew planning, maintenance, etc). Understand and communicate emerging timing or volume challenges and coordinate the development and implementation of solutions
Developing and maintaining a database with all relevant ECP fleet management KPIs (e.g. spare ratio, aircraft productivity etc) in order to support analysis and drive fast and fact-based decision making
Managing general business development projects at TUI Airline to strengthen the overall network performance. Lead ECP development activities including defining new business development concepts, evaluating specific business cases and supporting in negotiating co-operation agreements
Providing proactive and strategic guidance and direction throughout TUI's ECP activities with a view to continuous improvement in process alignment and integration, costs and efficiencies, and overall departmental performance
Working with AOC and Flight Operations leads, engage, build and maintain cooperative, trusting and sustainable business relations with the relevant aviation authorities to drive an effective and progressive partnership approach
Working closely with the other business leads monitor, evaluate and review projects, changes and program plans to secure critical business changes, working with a constant awareness of wider implications and trade-off
