Are you as passionate about sustainability and carbon reduction as we are? If so, this could be the ideal role for you.

The University of Lincoln is a high-achieving centre of academic excellence which has been recognised nationally and internationally.

It is an ambitious, fast-paced, dynamic organisation with multiple stakeholders which strives always to improve the staff and student experience and engagement with the wider Lincoln community as a Civic University.

The University takes its responsibility as a sustainable organisation seriously and has recently launched a new Sustainability Strategy, as part of its strategic plan.

We have committed to reducing our carbon emissions by 60% by 2030, against a baseline of 2009/10. We've also set a target to be Net Zero by 2040.

In order to meet these challenging targets, the University is striving to embed a culture of sustainability across all areas of activity, and to deliver a programme of carbon reduction projects as part of its capital programme and Estates masterplan.

This is an exciting and critical time of delivery as we make significant investment in Net Zero carbon projects and work with departments across the organisation to embed sustainability.

The Head of Sustainability role is essential in leading the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy, engaging a range of stakeholders and working collaboratively with academic schools and departments to enable the achievement of our ambitious targets.

The Head of Sustainability is an active member of the Estates Senior Leadership Team and represents the University on all matters relating to sustainability and carbon reduction, providing strategic direction and enabling collaboration.

As one of the largest employers in the city, the University of Lincoln offers exciting career opportunities with the chance to grow and develop to reach your full potential.

We also offer a wide range of staff benefits, including a generous annual leave allowance of 30 days per year pro rata (plus an additional 14 bank holiday and concessionary days), progressive pay rates, access to discounts at popular stores and more.

Please note, this post is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave from approximately October 2023 to May 2024.

Please note that these dates may change slightly.
