THE BUSINESS
We're working exclusively with a family-run, manufacturing business that manufactures packaging products, primarily for the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Having been established in 2017, the company has seen exceptional growth and already employs over60 people at their site in Gateshead.

They've recently received over £3m investment to further support scaling of the business, including expanding the number of manufacturing lines, and have plans in place to open an additional site in 2023, which will also employ an additional 50 people.

THE ROLE

This is a brand-new role for the business which you can really make your own and will report directly into the Operations Director.

Responsibilities are as follows (this list is by no means exhaustive):

  • Overseeing 3 Shift Managers and a Warehouse Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring all teams are being managed effectively and efficiently, with optimum output being always delivered.
  • Implementing strategic company objectives
  • Providing recommendations on improvements and efficiencies, as well as reporting on all operating efficiencies
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are equally adhered to, across all shifts
  • Working with the senior management team to promote business culture
  • Performing HR duties such as staff rotas, recruitment, appraisals, disciplinaries and forming training development plans for direct reports
  • Leading ad hoc improvement and development projects
  • General site management
  • Implementing and overseeing operations when the new site is open in 2023

THE PERSON

It's essential that you have experience of overseeing large teams and have the ability to provide leadership that improves important policy and strategic decision making.

Manufacturing experience is also essential, and it would be advantageous if you'vepreviously worked within a FMCG/Food or packaging sectors

If you've worked in a senior operations role that has been across multi-sites, this would also be extremely beneficial.

Due to the fact you'll be overseeing teams that work varying shifts, flexibility is a must and you have to be open to working later/earlier hours, than those outlined above.
