Associate/Principal Sustainability Consultant - BREEAM Lead

***Seeking individuals to join a highly influential Smart Energy and Sustainability team, to shape the approach to decarbonisation and a net-zero future. Seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Principal/Associate Sustainability Consultant to lead and expand their BREEAM services and local team in Edinburgh. You will be part of a collaborative and growing team across the UK, working on exciting and complex projects.Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of BREEAM projects, with support from senior team members.
- Handle Part L, Energy Strategies, and LCA assessments.
- Manage workload to meet project deadlines.
- Review project details, set sustainability targets, and provide feedback.
- Maintain projects via the project evidence tracker.
- Communicate sustainability requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce reports and provide guidance to clients and project teams.
- Attend site visits to review progress against sustainability targets.
- Monitor project performance and update progress information.
- Assist in preparing bids and proposals.
- Engage with skills networks for knowledge exchange.
- Contribute to team meetings.
- Complete relevant training to become a certified BREEAM assessor/AP.
Requirements:
- Ambitious, selfmotivated, and enthusiastic.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Thorough understanding of the construction industry and built environment.
- Project management abilities.
- Client relationship management skills.
- Proven track record of project delivery.
- Experience with Part L modelling (TAS preferable) and LCA (Oneclick preferable).
- Experience in developing and managing others (Principal/Associate grades only).
- Emerging business development and sales skills (Associate grade only).
Desired Attributes (optional):
- Working knowledge of building performance modelling techniques and software.
- Knowledge of energy/renewables/built environment/environmental sciencerelated disciplines.
- Analytical skills for different scales (buildings, campuses, cities).
- Experience presenting analytical information clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of planning, environmental impact assessments, or sustainability policy.
- Understanding of structural engineering, architectural design, and materials specification.
- Experience in producing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
- Qualifications within PAS 2050/2060/2080 standards.
- Experience using CIBSE TM65 embodied carbon calculation methodology.
- Leadership abilities and new product development in an expanding market.
- Graphic design skills using software packages like Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and BlueBeam.
- Ability to develop digital tool kits for internal and client use.
