My client in
Sheffield is looking for an experienced
Band 5/6 Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.


Job Role:

  • To deputise for Senior Staff as required in their absence for short periods of time.
  • Participate in out of hours rotas covering the 24/7 routine Biochemistry service.
  • To be accountable for own professional actions and work for long periods of time without direct supervision.
  • Assist in monitoring quality standards, perform audit as directed in line with service needs.
  • Ensure all tests are performed efficiently within the assigned time and in accordance with established protocols to the required standards.
  • Biomedical scientist 1 staff monitor stock levels and initiate delivery using prearranged standing orders against predefined minimum stock levels as defined by laboratory management.

Qualifications and Experience required:
-
HCPC registered as a BMS:

  • IBMS Accredited degree in Biomedical Sciences
  • Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Chemistry or Blood Sciences (Band 6)
  • NHS Laboratory working experience
  • Understanding of the Biomedical Scientist job role and requirements.
