The Opportunity


We are seeking to recruit a well-motivated and enthusiastic person who will be responsible for management of the day-to-day activities for the preparation phase of the Station's Statutory Outages.

The Statutory Outage Coordinator will also be the main point of contact for all Station Departments, Central Support Functions and Contract Partners throughout the preparation and execution phases of the Statutory Outage, as well as looking to identify areas for improvement in the Outage processes and organisation.


The Statutory Outage Coordinator is a member of the Outage Management Team and reports to the Outage Management Group Head.


Pay, benefits and culture


The salary range associated with this role is between £54,391 - £71,779 and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you'll be doing


The Statutory Outage Coordinator holds a key role within the Outage Department in ensuring that Outage delivery effectively supports Site Licence Conditions, Statutory Regulations, Equipment Reliability, Operational Focus and work delivery to support 1000 days generation and the delivery of outage to business plan or better.

You will be responsible for advising the Outage Group Head on priorities in the outage execution plan to [provide advance warning of any issues likely to impact on Nuclear Safety or Critical Path delivery.

You will be required to interact with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the station to ensure the Outage Milestones are completed within dates specified.


Principal Requirements

  • To act as a nuclear professional at all times and have a nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken.
  • Work closely with other Outage Management staff, Station Stakeholders and Business partners to ensure that Nuclear Safety, Compliance, Site Licence and Regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
  • Prepare and update progress reports for Level 1 Pre-Outage Milestone Plan (POMP) for performance.
  • Manage Metric Reports for Outage
  • Manage Outage Department POMP Milestones and complete before due dates.
  • Actively participate in Outage Lead Team
  • Coordinate the development of the Outage Reporting Structure
  • Provide reports to all Station Departments to assist with their own Outage preparations.
  • Address any issues raised in the Independent Safety Review, Outage Readiness Reviews and in general Outage preparations.
  • Champion internal station processes to ensure delivery of preparatory key milestones (POMP).
  • Continuously challenging station Outage Management standards in order to drive improvement in Outage Management performance and optimisation of work scope.
  • Interpret data for outage performance indicators and flag areas of concern.
  • Support Post Outage Activities
  • Deputise for the Outage Group Head

Who you are


Ideally the applicants will have thorough knowledge of nuclear power plant or have an industrial background with experience in the areas of project management, maintenance and operations.

Enthusiasm, flexibility, drive, demonstrates a 'can-do' attitude and the ability to facilitate change are essential.

You will be well versed in the use of computer packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint


Interviews to be held week commencing Monday April 22nd

Applicants will be required to obtain CTC level vetting prior to taking up their duties.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
