Technical Data Engineer:
The role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, and working as part of the Engineering team, your primary role will be to:

  • Achieve and maintain a high level of accuracy of all Meech Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Provide the Operations team with required data from financial and stock management systems
  • Implement and maintain Routings for production processes
  • Ensure physical build and BOMs are the same
  • Ensure all technical information is available for Production to build a quality product.

Main Responsibilities of the Technical Data Engineer

  • Ownership of existing BOMs, bringing them up to required standards. Creation of BOMs for new products and variants of existing products. Responsible for new & existing item master data. Regular auditing of existing BOMs to maintain their accuracy and agreement with work instruction and physical build. Ensuring that changes resulting from change notes are correct across all effected BOMs. Ensuring suitable drawings and technical information are available for all standard and nonstandard products. Providing data to the Operations management team as required. Involvement in projects relating to Navision and the provision of data.

Skills, knowledge and experience required by our Technical Data Engineer:

  • Based on-site at Meech's UK head office in Witney, Oxfordshire;
  • Experience of working in a similar data driven role is required;
  • HND in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable
  • Experience of working with Navision is preferred
  • Ability to read engineering drawings is required
  • Ability to understand BOMs is required
  • Experience of working with databases, extracting data from systems and manipulating in excel is preferred. Understanding of change management processes/procedures and NPI process and relevant outputs
  • Good project management, presentation, organisation, and communication skills, coupled with a flexible and cooperative approach. Analytical, Organised, thorough, and a proven completer/finisher. Flexible approach, coupled with good communication and interpersonal skills.
