12 months fixed term contract with potential extension

37.5 hours per week across Monday - Friday 9:00am - 17:00pm**
3 days Paxton Green Group Practice (SE21 8AU) and 2 days Home Visits within the South East London Area**
£30,000 - £33,000 per annum

As our Cardiographer lead you will be performing a range of diagnostic cardiology investigations. Including 12-lead ECG, fitting and removing ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors and also home blood pressure monitors. The role will include the uploading and downloading of monitors and sending reports securely to referring clinicians. You will be linking in with the remote analysis team frequently in regard to results and patient statuses.


In addition to this you will also running the above services in a clinical setting you will be providing these services to our housebound cohort of patients two days a week.

As lead cardiographer you will have oversight and run the housebound service. You will also provide support to junior cardiographers and the cardiology service manager as needed.

Everyday you will...

  • Perform 12lead ECGs to Society of Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST) standards
  • Fit and remove ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors and to upload and download results, providing telephone support to patients with any monitor queries
  • Run the new housebound service 2 days per week offering our services to patients in their own homes, whereby you will maintain high quality patient care that is delivered in a clinical setting
  • Ensure that your practice is patient centered and that a high quality of care is provided whilst adhering to infection prevention and control (IP&C) standards at all times and participating in clinical audit
  • Provide support to junior cardiographers and the cardiology service manager

To thrive in this role, you must ideally have

  • SCST Certificate in Practical Electrocardiography/ECG interpretation or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working with patients in a healthcare environment
  • Basic awareness of infection control and clinical governance protocols
  • Basic IT skills with a willingness to learn hospital administration systems
  • Experience in managing/leading a team and supporting more junior team members
