Chiltern Railways operate between the West Midlands and London, providing journey options to Aylesbury, Oxford, Birmingham, Stratford-Upon-Avon and other destinations.

We are looking for a Sales Station Host to join our team based in Dorridge.

The purpose of this role will be to respond to the demands of customer needs and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation on stations.

Based primarily within the booking office, but with responsibility for the whole station including the car park.


In this role you will be responsible for the promotion and sale of all products and services offered by National Rail including all forms of reservations, National Railways core products and National Railways tickets, also providing general assistance to customers as required including disabled assistance, information and customer information via the Public address.

Maintain knowledge and understanding of booking office publications contained within the office computer systemKeep leaflet displays stocked with suitable leaflets and poster sites to be presented to a high standardMaintain and account for all self-service ticket systems as laid down by instructionsKeep a record of all refunds and pay out authorised refunds when necessaryOrder stationery and ticket stock through the Customer Service ManagerEnsure locked stock items are recorded in the locked stock registerAssist in the instruction of new staff as appropriateCollect change from bank or arrange delivery as appropriateTake responsibility for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the ticket office to ensure that it is maintained to the highest standardCarry out cleaning duties to maintain overall appearance of the station and car park to the highest standardsEnsure winter weather plan treatment is carried outTo attend staff briefingsTo adhere to Chiltern Railways uniform wearers guide- GCSE (A - C grades) in English and Maths

Previous experienced working with customers

Strong Interpersonal Skills

Cash handling knowledge
