What's the role all about?


This is an exciting opportunity for experienced
Production Planning Assistant to join our Production Planning team, based at our Head Office in Brandlesholme, Bury.


With an ambitious order book ahead of us we are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running and support us assist with short/medium/long term planning, along with day-to-day processing of the production process from receiving preliminary information of Cellbeams, to the issuing of fabrication drawings to facilities and sub fabrication, planning treatment to achieve project site dates.


Working 36 hours a week / Monday to Friday / 3 days in the office & 2 from home / Early afternoon finish on a Friday
As our
Production Planning Assistant you will be involved in:

  • Listing first issue and revised issue packages to the works and purchasing when required
  • Issuing Material Bought Outs to purchasing when required
  • Uploading Carcass plate girders to in house planning software (HDS) when required
  • Keeping up to date listing registers when required
  • Liaising with construction / P&P for Lotting First Issue packages to suit Construction and Production requirements in 3D Software (Tekla Structures)
  • Producing 3D drawings and 3D models (BIM) of above to issue to all concerned from 3D Software (Tekla Structures)
  • Keeping up to date lotting registers when required
  • Assisting in keeping up to date Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / output charts for all areas of Production
  • Creating current status Project Visualisations drawings in Tekla when required
  • Using In house planning programme to issue packages to the relevant inhouse facilities or sublet
  • Processing Revision requests in Revision Manger
  • Creating Weekly Programmes for fabrication and treatment facilities when required
  • Editing, updating and issuing Weekly Facility Programmes to suit latest information
  • Keeping shop output sheet and charts up to date when required
  • Inputting new projects into Main Overview and amending charts to suit
  • Keeping Main Overview up to dates with latest tonnage / meterage / surface area and drawing issue/ site dates when required
  • Keeping Main Overview up to dates with latest rollovers in regards to shop hours / meterage / surface area progress when required

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to a minimum of A-Level standard, with a reasonable level of experience using 2D/3D CAD software and Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Engaging communicator who can articulate themselves clearly and build solid relationships with people
  • Can demonstrate a strong work ethic, is selfmotivated and resilient
  • Works well using their own initiative and pays attention to detail
  • Commitment to completing deadline driven tasks and meeting the needs of the customer
  • Enthusiastic team member who will positively contribute to the continued development of the team and wider business
