Description

The Department of Livestock and One Health is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Ruminant Research Group.

You will join a multidisciplinary research group and will work on our BBSRC-funded project, Genetic and management solutions for lameness-associated endemic diseases in dairy cattle.


You will collate lameness associated data from various complementary sources and develop a unique, comprehensive database for cattle lameness that will be used for genetic and genomic analyses.

You will also be involved in an extensive knowledge exchange (KE) programme underpinned by implementation science research.


You will have a PhD in animal, veterinary or biological sciences and wish to advance your career to a higher level within our excellent research and teaching environment.

This post is available from 1 September 2023 until 31 August 2025. Part time will be considered.


Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.

Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
