Applications Engineer

Full time permanent role

Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week

Burgess Hill based plus expectation to undertake extensive UK and international travel (fully expensed)

The role:

Reporting direct to the General Manager, the Export Applications Engineer will play a key role in supporting the businesses customers and worldwide distributors through training and technical assistance.

Key duties:

Maintain up to date, detailed knowledge and understanding of the product portfolio

Develop & maintain training materials to support customer / distributor product understanding;
Deliver training courses, remotely and on-site to Worldwide Customers and the Distributor Network;
Assist the Distributors with part analysis, prior to order;
Deal with Export customers technical enquiries along with the Technical Support Engineer;
Give expertise, advice, guidance and assistance to customers and distributors;
Maintain client relationships on an ongoing basis

Liaise with other departments and external contacts as required

Support effective cross-departmental working for business efficiency

Take an active role in the organisation and planning of Exhibitions / Trade Shows;
Attend Exhibitions / Trade Shows to perform product demos and promote product range

Person spec / experience required
Experience in Mechanical Engineering or Metrology / Inspection required

Ability to impart software-based training to a varied audience

Experience in office and field-based Customer service

Use of CAD software and CNC systems would be an advantage

Able to work pro-actively, independently, and flexibly

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Good planning and personal organisation skills

Proficient PC skills with Microsoft office

Other:

Valid Full UK Driving Licence required

Passport required

Expectation to undertake extensive UK and International travel
