_Do you have the resilience and the motivational, inspiring personality it takes to bring a rapid response to a vital service aimed at the London Borough of Brent's homeless population? _

  • We are recruiting to a permanent role and a 12 month fixed term contract


The Brent Rapid Assessment Hub is as the title says an assessment hub for those with recent experience of rough sleeping in Brent.

As it is 24 hr it is service it is high support but being a small service there is a lot of lone working.

The service offers a total of 16 bed spaces across two properties. 4 of the bed spaces across 2 rooms are for those who suffer with a challenging immigration support need.

We are part of a larger service which includes Outreach and Housing First.


In this role you will:

  • Deliver support to clients with multiple support needs with a view to moving them on to PRS or supported accommodation within a period of 3 months.
  • You will be carrying out comprehensive client assessments; providing clients with personalised case management support to help them be connected into specialist external services as appropriate, turning assessments into a practical action plans which fully involves the client.
  • Working within a small staff team, you will work jointly to case work the clients, assessing new referrals, welcoming them into the service, and planning their moves on from the service to more appropriate accommodation.
You will work a rota that will involve some evening and weekend work. This role will pay unsocial hours.


About you
You will have experience of working with vulnerable people and an understanding of the needs of homeless people. Strong communication, influencing and reasoning skills are also key, as is a flair for solving problems.

Other qualities include knowing how to network and build effective relationships with people at every level housing legislation, welfare benefit legislations and other matters relevant to successful support and move on of clients.
