Description

Administrator - ECI Energy Programme

The Energy Programme at the Environmental Change Institute (ECI) within the School of Geography and Environment (SoGE) is one of the leading energy research groups in the UK.

It is led by Prof Charlie Wilson, with Dr Tina Fawcett as Deputy Lead. The group currently has around 21 researchers and several doctoral students.

Current research in the Energy Programme focuses on delivering an inclusive, just, and effective net-zero transition in the UK and beyond.

This includes work on low-carbon energy systems, digitalisation, tackling fuel poverty, and policy and governance for net-zero.

As Administrator, your main roles will be to provide support on a range of logístical, organisational and financial matters, and develop new protocols and systems as necessary to improve the functioning of the group.

You will organise events and meetings, developing expertise in the smooth running of hybrid and online meetings.

You will contribute to selected projects by keeping financial records up to date, working with the Finance Office to resolve queries, and helping the project manager keep track of progress.

You will attend and provide minutes for regular team meetings and ensure business is dealt with in a timely manner.

You will lead on both internal and external communications, keeping the website updated, and maintaining metrics of impact.

The role is part-time (50%) with flexibility on working hours and practices, but with a general expectation the post-holder will work from the ECI offices where the group is based, particularly on Thursdays 11am-2pm when group meetings and seminars take place.

The post is fixed term for 3 years with the possibility of extension.

For informal enquiries about the role, please contact Dr Tina Fawcett at the ECI Energy Programme.
