Imaging assistant are a key part of the Imaging Department team supporting radiologists, sonographers and radiographers during examinations (e.g. Ultrasound, CT, Plain film ). They carry out preparation of patients using agreed protocols, cannulate patients and act as chaperones.

They undertake simple nursing tasks; carry out administrative tasks related to workflow processes, and accurate record keeping to agreed departmental policies.
