Facilities Assistants - Post, fulfilment, packing and dispatch

  • Opening, sorting, distribution of mail throughout the complex
  • Carry out fulfilment duties including post distributions and office supplies for colleagues.
  • Packing and dispatch of payrolls, cheques, mailshots etc.
  • Operation of office machines folder inserter, franking machine, pressure sealers, electric letter opener etc
  • Complete online electronic orders for mail posting dockets, post room labels supplies etc. Need to be used to completing online forms, websites and the use of the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel and Word.
Need to be accurate, observant and do the job quickly and efficiently following all instructions and best practice. Accurate record keeping is essential.


There is a lot of standing at desks and machinery, as well as a lot of walking, although some jobs can be done sat down.


The job is varied and two days are never the same but you are expected to work to the same high quality and achieve the various deadlines throughout the day.


  • Fire marshal
Provision and supply of stationery to staff, stock taking.

Provision of publication requests to both internal and external customers.

Deadline driven.


Person Specification:


Someone who is used to working on their own as well as in a Team to maintain an effective service for post, both in and out.

Great team player.

Essential Qualifications

  • Secondary education & the attainment of GCSE or equivalent NVQ including Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent relevant experience

  • Basic IT skills
  • Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral
  • Able to fulfil the mobility requirements associated with the role
  • Some roles may require a valid driving licence
  • Able to address the moving/handling requirements in the role
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Hold a full driving licence
Working Conditions

  • Manual Handling: objects 15kg + (daily requirement)
  • Display Screen Equipment: Laptop or Desktop PC
Smart casual clothing, no jeans, message/logo shirts, Proper footwear, no trainers.
