Description
This is an exciting new role that will span all aspects of the school's commercial life.

It is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares the ethos of the school, who wants to add real value, and who wants to be more than just a 'bean counter'.

This is a role that will suit a management accountant who is looking for something beyond the usual monthly routine and for a role that extends beyond pure finance.

The Assistant Bursar will use their financial expertise to provide thoughtful and insightful analysis across the School; but more broadly they will assist the Bursar in all elements of his role and will therefore be involved in all aspects of the commercial life of the School.

The role will span the strategic and the day-to-day operational.

In terms of management accountancy, the Assistant Bursar will take responsibility for providing analysis of the School's financial and operating position.

As well as preparing the budget and monthly management accounts, they will ensure that the Bursar and the senior leadership team have access to meaningful, accurate and timely data on financial performance, key performance indicators, and other operating data.

As this is a new role within the School, one of the first jobs for the Assistant Bursar will be to develop this suite of reports.

Beyond that, the Assistant Bursar will be involved in supporting ad hoc projects; dealing with parental and staff queries; overseeing Data Protection; line managing the School's administration function; owning the bursary programme; liaising with suppliers and contractors; and supporting Governance.

They will also work closely with other members of the Bursar's leadership team.

We are offering a salary circa £40,000 per annum.

25 days annual leave if on a full time contract, rising to 28days after 5 years of service. Plus Bank Holidays.
