We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Senior Product Expert in Supply Chain planning to join our Global Products & Tech ERP Supply Chain & Production team.

This is a role which requires a strong level of technical expertise in SAP APO as well as the ability to develop, support and build relationships across relevant stakeholders, teams and strategic partners.

In this role you will be responsible for business & technical analysis for products within the respective domain.

You will provide technical guidance and advice to SAP Product Owners as part of solutions-fit and options assessment (Viability, Desirability, Feasibility) with a focus on feasibility - for example can the user-story/problem statement be achieved.

They will also be accountable for technical artefacts such as systems requirements, solutions design and security & privacy reviews.


Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

Technical Configuration/Customization: Work with third party solutions providers, developers and other business partners to conduct technical configuration/customization of SAP solutions that meet our customers' needs and provides a great user experience

Data Protection: Develop a sound knowledge of GSK policies and processes regarding protection of sensitive data

Product Domain: Understand the SAP APO SNP product domain from a technology perspective but also understand how the technology adds value

Quality, Risk & Compliance: Accountable for ensuring all products supporting the business are compliant with internal security, risk management policies and practices.

Process Improvement: Drive ongoing product and technical improvements adopting a mixture of delivery methodologies where appropriate - but focusing on Value to the customers.

Technical Product Deliverables:Ensuring completion of technical deliverables as outlined by SAP Product Owner and ensuring technical aspects of definition of done are achieved.

Operational Support:Help on support ticket escalations, providing resolution to break-fix issues, and deployment of operational changes. Proactively seek ways to reduce the volume of support work, identifying common/recurring issues, and proposing improvements.

Basic Qualifications:


  • We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:_
  • Degree in Engineering, IT, Life Sciences, Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • Good experience in Tech/IT as APO or analyst in supply chain domain,
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively and directly with tech and business stakeholders, using the most appropriate communication channels and adapting information and style to the audience
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to learn about new tools and technologies, especially around machine learning, process mining and data sciences
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:_
  • Knowledge and usage of Agile/Scrum methodology in product management
  • Understanding on integration points between SAP modules
  • Desirable to have experience/knowledge on data science and machine learning tools/services like Celonis, Microsoft Azure Machine learning, TensorFlow or experience coding with Python using Jupyter Notebook.
