We're looking for a senior safeguarding practitioner who lives by our organisational values of Caring, Fair, and Innovative (*and has a passion for safeguarding)


We are excited to be able to offer this unique opportunity to work within our corporate safeguarding team on a 12-month secondment basis.


We are looking for an experienced practitioner, with a good understanding of safeguarding populations at risk of harm and multi-agency working, who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of practice.


You should have a sound theoretical background in relation to safeguarding and be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills.


The post will include the provision of specialist safeguarding advice, support and supervision on safeguarding matters to a wide variety of disciplines across the organisation.


In return, we will offer you an insight to working within a specialist corporate function and support you through clinical and safeguarding supervision and training, to support your personal and professional development.

The purpose of the job is to support the Associate Director Nursing for


Safeguarding to:


  • Improve prevention and early and accurate identification and
management of safeguarding concerns.

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate the innovative practice in
the management of the safeguarding agenda and to promote health
and wellbeing and prevent adverse effects.

  • Establish and improve professional standards of care in the
identification and management of safeguarding people across all
clinical and non-clinical specialties and across primary and social
care by developing partnerships with key stakeholders.

  • Improve adherence to and compliance with the Mental Capacity Act
2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 200- Support preparation for implementation of Liberty Protection

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will do this through providing leadership, advice and
expertise to health practitioners within the Trust and to promote the
embedding of the principles of safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act
into practice.

  • Provide an expert advice service that promotes professional clinical
practice with regard to the identification and management of safeguarding
and the Mental Capacity Act that ensures clinical excellence.
