Oxfam GB is looking for
a Policy Lead to lead a team of expert policy advisers covering issues such as climate justice, women's economic justice, humanitarian policy as well as wider inequality issues and UK development policy.*****This role will be responsible for the effective line management and coordination of the team, investing in the skills of each to be highly effective advocates in their areas of expertise. The postholder will also exercise those skills themselves, acting as a high-level spokesperson, analyst and advocate for Oxfam in UK and global decision-making spaces.


The role is significant in helping to ensure there is coherence and synergy in Oxfam's policy analysis, and that it is rooted in research and in the experience of our partners.

It will involve working as part of the wider Oxfam confederation to build consensus on transformative policy and advocacy strategies.


_ What we are looking for:

  • Experience as a policy specialist, with strong analytical skills, and good knowledge of up-to-date debates, ideally in global inequality, development financing, or wider economic justice issues.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, combining an accessible style with rigorous analytical skills
  • Proven sound judgement in complex situations
  • Experience managing performance of others and helping people to develop, grow and achieve their potential, including increasing diversity and inclusion in teams and / or workplaces
  • Ability to contribute to ways of working and culture in the Policy team that values multiple talents and specialism and ensure adaptability across the team
  • Good understanding. commitment and ideally experience embedding and continuously learning to embed a decolonial, safe, antiracist, intersectional feminist and partner led approach in your work.

Desirable

  • Experience in influencing and understanding one of Oxfam's UK or global target institutions (e.g. UK parliament, Government, UN, World Bank etc)
  • Experience working in a complex global or multimandate organisation or INGO.
  • Knowledge of another language (French, Spanish, Arabic)
  • Lived experiences with intersecting systems of oppression, with knowledge and experience of how power and privilege play out in the countries we work with, including the UK.
