Description

Travel Co are small family run business based in the Northwest that that provide passenger transport for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Job...
We're looking for Passenger Assistants to transport adult passengers for approx.

1hrs in the morning and 1hrs in the afternoon (approx.10hrs per week), 5 days per week (Monday to Friday or Wednesday to Friday, excl.

Bank Holidays) with the route covering the Huyton area. We also have the option of a 3 day week (approx. 6hrs per week).

You will be responsible for the care of passengers from the moment that get on the vehicle to the moment they get off.

Passengers will vary with some needing more support than others, but throughout their journey they must feel safe, secure, and enjoy their experience.

Pay will be £125 per week (base on 5 days) on a self-employed basis, but if you've never been self-employed, we can help with this.

Start dates can be arranged and training will be given.

As the route will be in Huyton, you must be in or nearby to the area so that the vehicle can collect you from Knowsley Leisure Centre, Longview Drive, L36 6EG.

Please ensure you can get to this location of your own accord before applying.

Dress Code...

You will be working in a minibus with passengers requiring your support, so something comfortable, secure, and smart casual is ideal.

We don't have a fixed dress code other than this because your ability to move round the vehicle safely in clothes you're comfortable in is important.

You'll be working on a vehicle with moving parts and accessories, so anything more than smart casual (i.e. shirt and tie) would be inappropriate.

What You Need...

Essential:

Reliability is crucial in this role as without a passenger assistant the vehicle can't operate, and passengers miss out on their transport.

You must be able to ensure your availability during route hours, which are 9:00am>10:00am and 3:00pm>4:00pm.

You must also have a caring and thoughtful nature with good patience and understanding for the passengers being transported. This must be evident in some of your previous work experience.

It is also essential that you're willing to have an Enhanced DBS check carried out and be willing to complete training to support you in your role with us.

Desirable:
In terms of qualifications and experience, these points will put you above the rest...

  • First Aid qualification
  • Epilepsy Awareness & Medication Administration qualifications/experience
  • Experience of providing Passenger Assistance on transport

Who Would This Job Suit...

This job would be fitting for someone who is looking for part-time work or is semi-retired with the aim of topping up their funds on a weekly basis.

Someone who can commit to the workhours and be very reliable. Someone that wants to help and enjoy working with people that need that little bit more support.

Ideally suited, but not limited to, Ex-NHS/SEN School/Care Workers as they've had the medical and personal experience needed to tick the requirements we have.
