I'm looking to recruit a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic LSA to work within an ASD proivision based in a mainstream primary school.

The base lead is looking for staff who can provide a calm, empathetic influence on a child's life.

The pupils withinthe based all has ASD, most of the children in the class have issues academically and struggle to grasp the curriculum.

I am ideally looking for someone with prior experience in a setting like this or maybe a psychology graduate who has done modules basedaround childrens behaviour.

The role will include supporting pupils within their SEN base. The class will consist of around 8-12 pupils who have statement special educational needsall children have ASD.


Main Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and support the pupils in all areas of the curriculum.
  • Shadow the pupils during all lessons throughout the day and potentially during lunch time.
  • Establish productive working relationships with the pupil and set expectations.
  • To give positive encouragement, feedback, and praise to reinforce pupils' efforts and develop selfesteem.
  • Promote the inclusion of the pupils to interact with each other.
  • Liaise with the teacher to help support a positive learning environment.
  • Under the instruction/guidance of the teacher support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social development needs e.g., the implementation of behaviour management.
  • Deescalate any situations if needed.
  • Prepare and maintain the classroom provision for all children including the outdoor environment and ensuring all provisions are safe.
  • Positive, energetic, and patient.
  • Has the ability to use their own initiative in challenging situations that may arise.
  • Takes the handson approach and is always ready to support the pupil and class teacher.
  • Able to have the ability to develop strong relationships between the pupil.
  • Passionate for working with the special educational need's environment.
  • Able to keep calm under pressure.
  • Motivational and has a supportive nature.
