SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor the individual academic and attitude to learning progress of level 2 students and deliver or facilitate appropriate intervention to support progress of all
  • Link with Year Leaders to support with attendance and punctuality as requested
  • Record delivery of any interventions for level 2 students and feedback to the pastoral team on the most effective interventions
  • Work with Level 3 students identified as in need of mentoring, and provide mentoring sessions where appropriate or facilitate alternative mentoring opportunities
  • Proactively use the Go 4 Schools system to regularly monitor behaviour and learning of all sixth form students in order to identify mentoring opportunities
  • Coordinate home / school links over a range of issues e.g. attitudes to learning, attendance and academic progress
  • Coordinate and review Level 2 parents' evening
  • Supervise the study room areas creating an effective learning environment
  • Liaise with the careers team, identifying and supporting target students
  • Support and create opportunities for students to engage with enrichment
  • Deliver intervention strategies for both pastoral and learning progress Improve and monitor attendance of the level 2 students using data provided by the admin team
  • Champion an ethos and culture of high standards, resilience and selfbelief within the student group through positive communication with students
  • Attend events in the evening and at weekends as required;
  • Administer after school homework and study clubs
  • Conduct duties as appropriate
  • Liaise with external agencies
  • Lead Acts of Worship
  • Plan weekly Friday period 3 tutor programme for whole year group
  • Direct tutors and provide resources for weekly Friday period 3 tutor programme
  • Coordinate tutors and provide resources for morning tutor periods
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities.
  • Planning for and responding to student wellbeing concerns
  • Supporting the sixth form team's recruitment of year 11 students into Year 1
  • Supporting transition of Year 11 students into Year 1 early meetings with vulnerable students/students with IEPs etc.
  • Oversee the progression of suitable level 2 students onto Level 3 courses
  • Ensure appropriate advice and guidance for year 12 level 2 students not staying on at Bluecoat, including tracking and reporting on destinations
  • Supporting with induction of new level 2 Year 12 cohort into Sixth Form life.
