Are you a Storage Specialist that is looking for more of a challenge, more job satisfaction?

Working on this large Defence site, in an engineering team in the Storage and Backup area of Platform services you will focus on the administration and management of the Long Term Storage systems and its delivered services.

Be responsible for the administration and management of the LTS systems and services, collaborating with the Team Leader on issues or updates on changes.

This forms a key part of this position.

The ability to follow the existing change and release processes and work to the ITIL framework is a must have for this position.

Working with the other engineers who form the team, this position will have access to our multi-tier sophisticated estates on a day to day basis.

Based on site 3 days a week with one day working from home

What you'll be doing:

Administration and Management of the LTS systems and Services
Responsible for ensuring the Major Incident Management Process is followed
Undertake and lead 'Root Cause Analysis' investigations into service affecting issues
Liaise and assist the solutions and architect team with the implementation of projects into service and support
Provide 3rd line support to the delivered service area around LTS Service fault progression (Major faults and performance issues)
Liaise with Third Party service providers in regards to firmware, software and security updates
Report on service availability and efficiency
Maintain storage technologies and platforms aligned to the LTS systems and services

What you'll bring:

Experience in IT customer service support or 3rd line systems administration
Certified or proficient in Linux operating systems and associated stack

It would be great if you had:

Experience with HPE based systems
