Our Leading Global Enterprise client is hiring a strong VMware Consultant to join their team on a VMware related project.

Rate:
up to £438 per day (please note, Employer NI is paid for by the client)

Job Details - Day to day tasks:

  • Actively review discovery data and look for opportunities that will enable the growth of the existing engagement.
  • Implementation of appropriate governance and control as directed by the PMO.
  • Manage risks and issues and oversee implementation of corrective actions.
  • Manage interdependencies between the workstreams.
  • Host regular (twice weekly) meetings with the lead roles within the function to ensure consistent delivery across the squads by reviewing activities on the critical path for each event and tracking progress against the T minus schedule.
  • Conduct fortnightly 121s with the leads to understand issues and challenges, and review resourcing, annual leave and training requirements.
  • Encourage feedback and ensure regular twoway dialogue to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Standardise processes and ensure they are applied consistently.
  • Leverage previous experience, promote best practices and make improvements to existing methodologies.
  • Act as the escalation point and seek advice from other programme leads as appropriate.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and work with other programme leads as directed by the SSP Programme Manager.
  • Ensure DTM is updated correctly after each migration event to ensure accurate reporting and billing.
  • Ensure annual leave is logged in the central holiday tracker and managed effectively ensuring there is adequate coverage
  • Act as an ambassador to actively promote the programme to both internal and external stakeholders and sell the benefits.
  • Communicate successes on the Workplace.
  • Review the effectiveness of the function with the Programme Manager periodically to ensure that roles are correctly aligned.
  • Oversee the TPA process, and ensure efficient resolution to technical queries.
  • Build on the existing knowledge base in MS Teams to support the resolution of technical issue
  • Act as a point of technical escalation for migration events

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using scheduling tools, such as Dell Transition Manager (DTM), and collaboration tools e.g. MS Teams and Zoom.
  • Business Impact Analysis, Business Resiliency, Cloud Data Migrations, Data Migration (VMware) Services, Data Migration (VMware) Services [Global Solutioning], Data Migrations, Virtualization

  • Experience working in the finance or banking industry (Nice to have.)
  • Experience working on a complex storage migration programme (Nice to have.)
