Our client is a long established medium sized City practice with a good working environment, friendly and an informal atmosphere.

They are now looking to hire a Credit/Revenue Controller.

The focus of this role is to ensure that WIP is billed in a timely manner and monies owed to the Firm are collected promptly to maximise the firm's cashflow.

In this role you will be the revenue and credit controller for your business areas. This role reports to the Credit and Revenue Control Supervisor.


Responsibilities:


  • Read through client files to ascertain the latest activity regarding the status of WIP and debt;
  • To meet partners and fee earners on a monthly basis to review their aged WIP and debtor balances;
  • To add notes of all chasing activity into the credit control system;
  • Preparation of monthly statements to clients;
  • Contact clients directly regarding settlement of their bills;
  • Initiate and manage proceedings against poor payors, using an external debt collection agency where necessary;
  • Review funds held on client account where there are outstanding bills;
  • Suggest improvements to processes within the department;
  • Cover for other members of the team.
  • You will have previous experience working in a credit/revenue control role in a law firm;
  • A sound understanding of the Solicitors' Accounts' Rules is desirable;
  • You will have experience of managing WIP and debt in a similar environment;
  • Experience of 3E is desirable but not essential;
  • Experience of ARCS is preferable ;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office;
  • A good team player with a willingness to pick up work and support colleagues;
  • Excellent client handling skills;
  • Selfstarter with plenty of drive and initiative;
  • Work in a highly organised manner;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
