Job Description:


Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform antibody conjugation to various dyes using established methods, according to budget and customer demand.
  • Qualify antibody characteristics pre
- and post-conjugation, using HPLC, FPLC (AKTA), spectroscopy and other methods as required.

  • Comply with laboratory SOPs and Abcam's Quality Management System, in line with the ISO9001:2015 standard.
  • Accurately record conjugation and characterisation data, by use of Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), laboratory notebooks and Oracle ERP.
  • Actively support product and process improvements, from creative ideas to development and implementation.
  • Create SOPs for novel processes, in preparation for technology transfer to other Abcam teams.
  • Maintain high quality products and services and demonstrate consistency and accuracy in your work.
  • Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate clearly with team members within R&D, providing updates on conjugation pipeline progress, QC and other experimental results, coordinating with other teams for downstream processes.
  • Prepare buffers and reagents according to defined operating procedures and contribute to general housekeeping tasks within the lab.
  • Work within Abcam Health and Safety, Ethical and Quality standards.
