About the Trust
At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK.
Our staff serve a local population of nearly two million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services.
We provide inpatient care for over 5,000 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, and Croydon.
As well as serving the communities of south London, we provide more than 50 specialist services for children and adults across the UK and beyond.
What you'll be responsible for:
- To provide comprehensive administrative support to the multiprofessional team with regards the processing of clinical documentation, managing queries and data entry.
- To provide a professional and confidential administrative service to include, preparing and formatting of correspondence, photocopying, faxing, scanning, dealing with post.
- Screening and rerouting calls appropriate to request, taking clear & concise messages and dealing with enquiries appropriate to post.
- To ensure daily tasks and ongoing workloads are prioritised and completed within agreed timescales, managing multiple tasks within the working day, whilst maintaining quality standards.
- To arrange appointments and meetings as required. To attend meetings and produce clear and detailed minutes.
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Previous administrative experience.
Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills._
