The Silver Line Helpline are recruiting for a
Helpline Volunteer Coordinator to join their dedicated team. The team is growing and focusing on the expansion of volunteering as a core part of the Silver Line Helpline. Supporting volunteers to understand and use IT systems and acting as a first point of contact for new and existing volunteers.


In this varied role you will focus on onboarding new Helpline volunteers, through recruitment, interviewing and training - ensuring efficient and effective administrative processes are in place to enable the service to grow and achieve agreed targets and KPIs.


Supervising the work of Helpline volunteers, you will ensure that all necessary training has been completed and recorded whilst establishing that volunteers have sufficient knowledge to carry out their role.

This is a hybrid role, a blend of home and office working. The linked office for this role is in Blackpool.

Must haves:

  • Demonstrable experience and proficiency in using various IT software, to include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint or similar.
  • High level of accuracy with spreadsheet creation, data input and the ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to work to multiple competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision as well as working as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to communicate constructive feedback in a sensitive manner to volunteers and/or staff both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing training and mentoring either face to face or virtually to either staff or volunteers.
  • Proven knowledge of safeguarding and data protection.
  • Good understanding of the issues affecting older people.
