Trade Operative

Chester - covering Chester and the North West

£29,956 - £31,533 per year

40 hours per week

We pay up to £500 welcome bonus when you join Sanctuary and up to £500 per year thereafter retention bonus
We are recruiting a Trade Operative to join our Operations Responsive team based in Chester. The role will be responsible for carrying out emergency and routine repairs to occupied and void properties. The role will mainly be lone working however will include team work as and when required. The role will cover Chester and the North West region. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use.


The role of Trade Operative will include:

  • Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with agreed contract specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:


  • City & Guilds qualification, NVQ 3 or relevant experience
  • Skills in some of the following disciplines basic building, basic plumbing, basic painting
  • Good communication and customer care skills
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
  • Working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
