As a Teaching Assistant working, your duties may include:

  • Supporting the teacher in delivering high-quality lessons that engage and challenge all children
  • Planning and preparing resources for lessons and activities
  • Working with individual children and small groups to support their learning and development
  • Helping to create a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment for all children
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing school values and expectations
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support children's learning at home
  • Assisting with assessment and recordkeeping to monitor children's progress
  • Experience of working in an early years setting, ideally in a school
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to use their initiative and work as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Qualifications:


  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C or above

£11.41-£12.50 per hour
