BCOP is a local charity that has, for the last 70 years, supported older people living in Birmingham. We have three nursing homes, 4 supported living schemes and 6 independent living schemes within the area.

The post holder's duties will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure all income is correctly charged & allocated & all debtors & tenants accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Produce regular reports including monthly aged debt analysis and follow up to highlight & reduce any potential arrears and bad debts.
- Support the accounts payable function to ensure correct and timely processing of all invoices, credits, payments and reconciliations to the accounting system.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Team to ensure that all payroll is processed accurately and on time in order to meet key statutory and monthly deadlines.
- Processing purchase ledger payments including dealing with supplier queries.
- Ensure all purchases and supplies are correctly charged and allocated on a timely basis.
- Ensure all creditors and supplier accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Produce regular reports including monthly aged creditor analysis and follow up to highlight & reduce any potential issues and account holds and charges.
- Supporting the Assistant Accountant with month end processing, debtor and creditor reports, accruals, variance analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations to support the production of the monthly Management Accounts
- Supporting the team with transaction processing including invoices, credits, journals and reconciliations as required
This is a pivotal role for the finance team and the post holder will work very closely with the Assistant Accountant and the Finance Manager to ensure that standards are met and maintained across all aspects of the Finance Teams' work.

You will need to be organised, have a great attention to detail, a good problem solver and tenacious at seeing things through to conclusion.
You will be a great communicator at all levels, both verbally and written, able to translate financial speak to those less confident than you.
