Description

A Special School in Solihull is looking for committed, knowledgeable Teaching Assistants who are passionate about providing outstanding SEMH support.
Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Perhaps you have experience of working with people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a different workplace setting? Are you trained in the use of tactics to best support students with their wellbeing and mental health in order to enhance their learning? If you're a skilled and passionate SEMH specialist, Team Educate would love to hear from you

The Special School caters for pupils who are in alternative provision for their education due to their special educational needs.

The majority of pupils at the school will have needs relating to their Social, Emotional and Mental Health, with a diagnosis of ASC and ADHD.

The school is highly committed to supporting their pupils, and the staff share the same, committed ethos of supporting their learners' academic progress and wellbeing at all times.

They are a small school, with the ability to put the effort and time to invest in every child's unique needs and academic development.

They are looking for an equally committed Teaching Assistant to join them in their journey.

Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistants:

  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with special educational needs in order to promote academic and social development.
  • Use your skillset to communicate with learners and support them in their studies to foster engagement in the classroom.
  • Assist in the implementation of IEPs and EHCPs.
  • Collaborate with specialist teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide assistance with emotional wellbeing and behavioural needs.

SEMH Teaching Assistants will need:

  • Previous experience of working with children or young adults in a mental health/wellbeing focused setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs (SEN), specifically SEMH, ASC, ADHD or Attachment Disorder.
  • Patience, empathy, and compassion, with a drive to support pupils' emotional and academic progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children who need support with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

It is also an opportunity to secure a long-term position in one of our fantastic partner schools, with the opportunity to secure a permanent vacancy in the long-run.

Submit your CV and we'll be sure to get in contact with you
