Good Morning We are currently recruiting for a Disclosure Clerk Collisions Unit to work for Devon and Cornwall Police at their Crownhill Police station in Plymouth.

You will be working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday.


This role is to support the Force commitment to the controlled sharing of personal information contained within records where such disclosure will assist victims in progressing civil claims in relation to Collisions whilst meeting legislative requirements, ACPO guidance on the Management of Police Information (MOPI) and agreed information sharing protocols.


Principal Responsibility

  • Access Force systems and obtain information, either electronic or hard copy, to enable the decisionmaking process on whether information should be disclosed.
  • Compile correspondence which conveys the decision made and, where applicable, ensures the partners can understand why information has not been provided.
  • Meet agreed timescale as laid down in Service Level Agreements or their equivalents.

Role-Specific Training and CPD to be undertaken.

  • Relative sections of MoPI and the Data Protection Act
  • Force Information Sharing protocols
  • Information Disclosure training
  • Appropriate Force databases
  • Road Traffic Act 1988 training
  • Working knowledge of PNC, OIS, CIS, Buchanan, VPFPO, NSPIS, GIS, Outlook and Microsoft word

  • An understanding of the principles around disclosure.
  • Proven ability to undertake research.
  • Good decision making skills
  • An understanding of risk management
  • Demonstrable ability to draft well structured letters and reports outlining a particular rationale or justification for a decision
