Cardiff Council are recruiting for an exciting new role within our Interventions Hub.

We need a social work assistant to help deliver a project that supports teams across children's services when working with cases where domestic violence is present.


Cardiff Children's Services offer a range of opportunities for career development, including funded secondments to various degree and post graduate training courses.


Cardiff offers the opportunity to grow and develop through high quality training, regular and effective supervision, and a wide variety of opportunities to pursue career development, for example we have funded Social Work Assistants to go to university to obtain their Social Work qualification.

That's why we are developing our early intervention and prevention services to make sure families can access a range of services and tiered support to prevent the need for statutory social work intervention.

The aim of the role is to enhance practice and safety planning across Children's Services within the context of domestic abuse.

You must hold strong social work values and a commitment to respectful, collaborative, strengths-based approaches with our families and colleagues.


You will bring extensive experience of working with children and young people, experience of working with multi-agency professionals, skills in assessment and planning and have a flexible approach as the service develops.
