Description
The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts.

It is an internationally renowned centre for the teaching and research of art history and is also a major public gallery.

The Courtauld Gallery cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, sharing these works with the public at its home in Somerset House in central London.

It also produces a critically acclaimed series of temporary exhibitions. The Courtauld Gallery reopened its doors to the public in November 2021, following a major transformation project.

This position at The Courtauld Gallery is supported by the Bridget Riley Art Foundation.

It provides an exciting opportunity to acquire early career experience in curatorial practice across all the collection and programming areas of The Courtauld Gallery.

The role will primarily support the curatorial department in the delivery of new projects following the refurbishment of the Gallery and the redisplay of its collections.

The post-holder will also actively encourage the use of the collection by young people and students of art, history and other disciplines.

An important aspect of the role will be working on future exhibition programmes, especially in the area of drawings and Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting.

Applicants must have a demonstrable interest in curatorial work and in pursuing a museum career, with the ability to work collaboratively and proactively as part of an effective team.

Also required are good organizational, IT and writing skills.
