Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with a background in aerospace or automotive engineering and looking for a new challenge?

Verus Recruitment Partners are supporting a leading global aerospace & automotive manufacturer based in South Yorkshire in the Recruitment of an experienced Manufacturing engineer on a full-time, permanent basis.

This opportunity is due to continued businessgrowth and projects.

As their new Manufacturing Engineer, your team is tasked with supporting the production floor in projects to improve existing processes/products and delivering business KPI related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery alongside exploring new technologiesto further improve operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve the method of manufacture to meet safety, quality, cost, and lead time requirements.
  • Creation and amendment of controlled documentation and ERP systems (BOM, part routings, SOP, technique sheet).
  • Support engineering change management process. Ensure assessment of change, review, communication, implementation, and release is managed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Work as part of the project team to deliver CI, cost reduction and margin improvement projects.
  • To support NPI/industrialization projects into production
  • On time, to budget and required quality standard.
  • To support design, development and in load of new tools and fixtures. Create tool specifications, supplier selection, conduct design reviews, track development progress, perform production trials and implement into production.
  • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the capability of manufacturing methods.
  • Identification and resolution of quality/engineering issues through effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Support the capital investment (CAPEX) process through identification, creating a business case, justification and return of investment (ROI) for introducing new equipment, machine, and system into the business.
  • To support and communicate with the operations, quality, commercial and planning teams to deliver customer requests.
  • To identify and assess new technologies which can be applied to give the business a competitive advantage.

About You:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Aero-Structure/Metallic detail manufacturing including final assembly.
  • Considerable experience in any two of the following areas: General assembly and fabrication, sheet metal forming, 3 & 5 axis machining, heat treatment, grinding, welding, laser drilling & cutting or EDM.
  • An understanding of process control and problem investigation tools (PFMEAs, MSA, RCA, 8D, 5 whys etc.)
  • A Strong understanding of engineering drawing and GD&T.
What would make you stand out? (Desirable)

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and quality tools
  • Knowledge of NAS9100 requirements.
  • Experience in CAD/CAM such as Siemens NX, CATIA etc, CNC programming, PLM software, ERP systems.
  • Engineering degree ideally with a specialist in Aerospace/automotive engineering.
  • Having a professional qualification/university degree i.e., Bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace/automotive.
