An excellent opportunity has arisen to work within our fast-paced theatre team in a busy elective department at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly.

With exciting times ahead with the service reconfiguration within ABUHB, this will see the development of the breast centre situated here at YYF.


The hospital is situated in the picturesque Welsh valleys, surrounded by countryside with the town of Ystrad Mynach and a train station within walking distance.

There is a bus service to the hospital and adequate parking on site. A short journey also takes you into the affluent shopping centre in Caerphilly.

Skills required include a variety of surgical procedures in specialities such as:

  • Orthopaedics
  • General Surgery
  • Laparascopic
  • ENT
  • Gynaecology
Support may also be required at larger sites within the health board in a wider variety of specialities.


We operate using regular day shifts with no shift work, bank holidays or on calls with the requirement to work occasional weekends.

We are looking for skilled people that have a commitment to team working.

Our Anaesthetic Practitioners are encouraged to participate in training and development and are part of exciting courses such as ILS, simulations, CICO and Transfer courses.


With our newly appointed practice educator we pride ourselves on investment in staff, not only in terms of CPD but also staff well being.
