Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a full-time Behaviour Support Worker to support behaviour management.

The role is to support a range of students across KS3 and KS4 with challenging behaviour, who are at risk of exclusion.

The classroom-based teaching assistant role will support children in their classroom in a SEND provision in the Bradford area. The full-time role will require you to work on site 8.30am - 3.30pm; Monday - Friday. This is a fantastic opportunity to make adifference in a child's life and support them through their academic years.


The Behaviour Support Worker must be calm, patient and armed with a variety of techniques to manage challenging behaviour is a must to approach this role.

The BSW will provide general support to students with challenging behaviour, enabling them to reachtheir potential.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • To establish and promote positive relationships with children, other members of staff and parents, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • To assist the class teacher in preparing resources and setting out learning materials and equipment for planned activities.
  • To discuss with the class teacher the learning objectives and expected learning outcomes for each lesson or activity
  • Supporting Children in Their Learning
  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under direction and guidance of the head teacher, SENCO and class teacher.
  • Monitor the pupils' response to the learning activities and modify or adapt the activities to achieve progression towards the intended learning outcomes
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and monitor their progress.
  • Provide support and implement intervention programmes for students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Promote the social and emotional development of children.
  • Promote inclusion of all children within the classroom and school.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to manage children's behaviour, maintain an appropriate working environment, including implementation of the school's behaviour policies.
  • Ability to design and implement a positive, approach to the management of pupil disaffection and challenging behaviour
