Fixed Term - Temporary Contract for 12 Months


We are recruiting for a Home Ownership Officer (Section 20) to deliver an outstanding and compliant, customer focussed management of processes for Homeowners and Leaseholders.


Key responsibilities include:


  • To work closely with:
  • Asset Management in identifying current and future planned works to produce accurate major works 5year estimates, ensuring the protection to the landlord from possible future challenges through managing and controlling risk.
  • Other departments across the business to identify the need for formal consultation under Section 20, to protect the landlord of potential financial loss or legal challenges by making an informed decision based on risk and consultation triggers.
  • Carry out Section 20 consultation under:
  • Schedule 1 & 2 for Long Term Qualifying Agreements
  • Schedule 4 part 2, and Schedule 4 part 1 for works
  • Schedule 3, for Qualifying works under a longterm agreement.
  • Review information provided in the Section 20 consultation proforma and liaise with the relevant teams when additional information is required for the notices.
  • Check the leases, transfer agreements, tenancy agreement, Section 125 notices, and service charges to confirm the ability to recharge for works and ascertain if there is a sinking fund to ensure the accuracy of the Section 20 Notices.
  • Prepare and issue the relevant statutory notices ensuring they are in strict compliance, minimising the risk to the landlord of recovering due sums and the reputational risk of noncompliance.

  • An understanding of regulatory requirements relating to Registered Providers and leasehold legislation.
  • An understanding of Housing Law would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in line with GDPR and handling sensitive and personal data.
  • Experience of working with external customers including experience of working with Homeowner and Resident Associations.
  • Ability to provide a highquality service with a positive commitment to delivery and customer care.
  • An enthusiastic individual who possesses a polite and positive approach with a 'can do attitude' and is driven by customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences both in writing and verbally, to explain complex issues.
  • Able to work as part of a team and also be proactive with the ability to selfdirect and use your initiative,
  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed delivery dates combined with a flexible approach.
  • Well organised, calm and methodical with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively on a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexible in your approach to work and changes in the sector.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams and stakeholders to ensure the best services are delivered to Saffron's customers.
  • Good IT skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous.
